Day 1: Antananarivo –Antsirabe (about 4 hours driving)
Today we will make our way from the capital city, Antananarivo (Tana) to Ansirabe. The route is quite scenic and offers a panoramic view of the rice fields and also includes the tombs of the highlands of Madagascar.
Today we will head west along the famous National Route 7, we will cross the small town of Ambatolampy, Ankaratra Hillas (the third highest point of the island), and then finally, Antsirabe. Antsirabe is known as the second capital of Madagascar and is famous for its quality beef and cheeses. Situate in the Highlands, Antsirabe's air is extremely clean and very refreshing.
The total drive from the capital to Antsirabe is about 170 kilometers. The entire trip is on asphalt and is therefore quite a comfortable trip.

Cornered between the chain of Bongolava in the East and the plateau of Bemaraha on the West, this situation assures the status of the hottest city of Madagascar, with an annual average of 28°C. Thriving in this is a unique ecology is different than anywhere else on the island.
After our quick stop in Miandrivazo, we will continue on to Morondave arriving late this afternoon.
Morondava is the capital of the Sakalava tribe. The city is quite pleasant known for wide boulevards, a multi-colored daily market, a and picturesque harbor of schooners and mangrove swamps. The harbor establishes a very particular and perfect ecosystem and includes an encounter of the sea and the river.

Today as we visit the reserve, we have the possibility to observe lemurs, the Fossa (Mada's largest predator), and the famous Baobab trees. Our time spent on the reserve will equate to about two hours before we make our way back to Morondova. Once in Morondova we will stop at and enjoy a sunset in perhaps one of the most famous locations in all of Madagascar, the Avenue of the Baobabs. Once you've soaked in this beautiful location, and taken some amazing photos, we will make our way back to the center of the city.
