Just like Nigeria's culture and topography, the country's food is vast and varied as well. With 250 different ethnic groups, it just natural for each specialty dish to be unique and has its own cultural characteristics. On this delightful 5-6 hour activity, you will learn to prepare some of the most common and mouthwatering dishes of the country.
Start the day by tasting the classic Jollof rice, a one-pot rice dish flavored by tomatoes, onions, and butter. After the meal, your guide will accompany you to the market to enjoy Abacha cassava salad native to the people of Igbo. Then, head back and prepare pounded yam and Banga (palm fruit) soup, which originated in the Niger Delta and the South Eastern parts of Nigeria. Try your hands in cooking garden egg stew, a tasty stew made with garden eggs, tomatoes, and your choice of fish and seafood. End the half-day activity with a full stomach as you satisfy your palate with the delicious Masa (rice cake) and stew combo.
