DAY 2 - SAIGON – MEKONG DELTA - SAIGON (B,L)


Breakfast at hotel.

Depart at 8:00 am from the southern economic hub of Saigon City to the area referred locally as

“the rice bowl of Vietnam”.

Upon arrival at My Tho, cruising along small creek to Mekong River estuary, to Con Phung (Phoenix Island). The motorized boat cruise more along natural creeks and quiet village in Ben Tre Province.

Have lunch at local restaurant in My Tho En- route visit a small factory producing handicrafts made of coconut. Visit orchards, bee -keeping farm, taste natural honey and honey wine, enjoy tropical fruit, traditional music, see round a distillery, explore the local coconut candy production process, taste candy & coconut pulp.

Come back to Saigon city in the afternoon.

Overnight in Saigon.


DAY 3 - SAIGON – FULLDAY CITY TOUR (B)

8:30 Start Saigon fullday city tour:

The first place to visit in the tour will be the Reunification Palace, which was the former

residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of the war in April 1975. After

Reunification Palace, you can walk to see some French colonial structures including Notre

Dame Cathedral, the Old Central Post Office.

Continue on to Chinatown, Thien Hau pagodas, which is dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea.

Explore the highlights of this fascinating area, beginning with intricate friezes, carved tableau

and impressive incense coils make for some great photos.

Continue to visit War Remnants Museum where there is a vast display of the both the

Indochina wars. In courtyard massive military vehicles are for exhibition as well as tiger cages

for the visitor to get a feel on how it was to be a prisoner during wartime. In the museum building

itself, each floor will represent a separate theme from the war and the war crimes committed

towards the Vietnamese people.

We end the city tour with Ben Thanh market where anything and everything is for sale.


Day 4- Saigon- Phnom Penh By Car (B)

Transfer to Moc Bai border to enter Cambodia

Upon arrival Koam Samnor border between Cambodia – Vietnam (Chau Doc), welcome by

the local English speaking guide and the driver transfer to Phnom Penh

Take 4hours on the NR 1, after arrival Phnom Penh, the city that retains its traditional Khmer

and colonial charm. French villas along tree-lined boulevards remind the visitor that the city was

once considered the ‘pearl’ of Southeast Asia. 


DAY 5 - PHNOM PENH - PHNOM PENH’S PAST & PRESENT (B)

Morning

8:30 Start Phnom Penh city tour:

Firstly, visit the Royal Palace compound build in 1866 by the Predecessors of King Norodom,

it is the most conspicuous feature and also one of impressive colorful Khmer-style Palaces.

Nearside the Royal Palace is the Silver Pagoda (The Emerald Buddha temple), displays plenty

of Buddha statues that were decorated and made by diamond, emerald, gold and silver.

Travelers will proceed to visit Independence Monument which was constructed in 1954 after

Cambodian took their country back from French colony, then visit the National Museum, the

distinctive red building with a beautiful Khmer architecture was build in 1917 and contains more

then 5000 art objects made of sandstone, bronze, silver, copper, wood and others.

Afternoon

We will learn about the dark side of Cambodia – Its more recent turbulent and harrowing history.

Initially you visit the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (also known as S21), ironically a former

school, located in a quiet Phnom Penh suburb, this was the infamous Khmer Rouge prison /

torture centre. Once you have gained an initial insight of the brutality of the Khmer Rouge regime you will be driven 15 km from Phnom Penh to visit the ‘Killing Fields’. This is where

Toul Sleng prisoners were forcibly marched and then executed; it is now a memorial site located in a beautiful tranquil setting.

Then shopping at Toul Tompong Market (called Russian Market), so-named because of the prevalence of items from the Eastern Bloc in past times, the Russian Market today is a treasure

trove for tourists.

We start at Wat Phnom, iconic symbol of Phnom Penh, before heading past the National Library

and Hotel Le Royal.

Day 6- Phnom Penh- Departure (B)

And we will take you transfer to airport for the flight to the next destination
