Travel to the places where García Lorca’s life came to an end. In the middle of the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Sierra de Huétor, we will talk about the causes and events leading to this universal poet’s death.

We will start out in the city of Granada, Lorca’s home and source of inspiration, and the place where he was arrested on August 16, 1936. We will continue on to the villages of Víznar and Alfacar, located near the mountain range, alongside water channels and ancient irrigation ditches passed down from ancestral times.

There we will talk about the circumstances surrounding Lorca’s death, the Spanish Civil War and the recovery of the poet’s figure in the collective memory of society in Spain and Granada. We will see the place where he spent his last night, the mass graves of those shot during the Civil War, a park dedicated to the poet and the astonishing site where many believe he was shot early on the morning of August 18, 1936.

Our guides, professionals who are passionate about Lorca as a figure and the history surrounding his death, will help you understand the final stage of his short, mysterious life.

The tour ends in the village of Alfacar, next to the Fuente de las Lagrimas, where we will be taken back to the city center of Granada.
