CAMPING, A HIKE AND AN AFRICAN HOUSE TOUR FOR 8 DAYS

TOUR ITINERARY 

On arrival at Mfuwe International Airport, a guide will be waiting with a signage of your name on it, and you will start your an hour of trip to Nkwali Camp, cruising through the colorful tribe and villages, and bushlands. Nkwali Camp showcases one of the best views of Luangwa River.

Set on private land, and overlooking the South Luangwa National Park, Nkwali is the ideal place to start your safari experience in Mfuwe. Should you be arriving in the morning, you will have a sumptuous lunch while admiring the view of the lagoon that stretches out to the back of Nkwali. Should you be arriving in the afternoon, relaxing afternoon tea will be served. Your activities for the day will include the afternoon and night game drive. Dinner will be served after your night activities. 

Enjoy your day in Nkwali exploring the area and participating in the scheduled activities of the Camp, such as morning game drives, walks, and a night drive.

Your trip to Tena Tena Camp will start after your breakfast, you will be crossing via both in Luangwa river and staff from Tena Tena will be waiting for your arrival. You will be guided to your designated tent, and we will give time for you to settle down while we prepare your lunch. You might want to take your siesta after lunch, before your afternoon and night game drives. Dinner will be served after your night activities. 

Camp exploring and game drives in the morning, there is also the possibility of visiting Kawaza village as an option to meet local people and experience life in a real Zambian village. Should you wish to visit the village we strongly advise you to let us know and your guide upon your arrival. 

Enjoy early morning breakfast before your an hour trip back to the Mfuwe Airport, game viewing will take place before your flight. You will be expected to arrive at Shiwa House around noontime or lunchtime. A guided tour of the house will commence after your lunch and you will discover the history of Sir Stewart Gore Browne and his family. The afternoon activities will include more exploration of the estate, a walk through history on the saw and essential oil mills, traction engines, and old far buildings. Dinner will be served after your night walks. 

Rise and shine early and start for a game walk in seeking out the rare sitatunga and blue duiker antelope. After the early walk, head back to the house for a full farm breakfast made entirely of local produce from the farm. The morning activities will include perusing the archives and photos, and then you are off to visit the gravesite of Sir Gore Browne and take in the spectacular view of the lake. In the afternoon, we will allow you to have plenty of time to relax and a late afternoon game drive to see some of the 22 species on the estate. Dinner will be served after your night game drive. 

Day 7 in Shiwa House,  a hike to Nachipala hill and a boat ride

After your early morning light breakfast, you will hike to Nachipala Hill, it is where David Livingstone took bearings on his last journey and spend the last few weeks before his death. The hike will be for about 3 hours and is definitely not too difficult. The breathtaking views await you at the top of Nachipala Hill.  After your morning hike, you will return to the house for lunch and a siesta. Your afternoon activities will include birding and game viewing over the lake, where you will have the chance to see the Palm-nut vulture and some crocodiles and a boat ride through the serene papyrus swamps along the Mansha River.  Dinner will be served after your night activities. 
Day 8 Departing Shiwa House

Enjoy a hearty breakfast before your flight back to Lusaka, End of services.
