Camps Bay

Just up Kloof Nek Road from the center of town is this thriving beach community. Plenty of trendy nightclubs, shops and cafes bring diners and shoppers, while tranquil seas and fine white sand draw sun worshippers and swimmers. 

Twelve Apostles

The Twelve Apostles is a range of mountain peaks that runs along the Cape Peninsula south of Cape Town. They form the backdrop of a scenic drive along the coast. 

Hout Bay

Enclosed by ocean, mountains and wine farms, the former fishing village offers a country affair with some adventure thrown in. 

Chapmans Peak Drive

Chapman’s Peak Drive toll road winds its way between Noordhoek and Hout Bay on the Atlantic Coast on the south-western tip of South Africa. Chapman’s Peak Drive is one of the most spectacular marine drives in the world. 

Cape Point Nature Reserve

Cape Point is located within Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and home to an entire floral kingdom and many populations of animals. Look out for ostrich and pelagic birds, view zebra, eland, and the many species of reptiles and small mammals. Chacma baboons are common in the Cape Point nature reserve, especially at the point itself. You have the option of either walking or taking a funicular ride to the upper lighthouse right at the tip of Cape Point where you are able to look back in awe at the beauty of the Cape peninsula and the surrounding areas.

Boulders Beach

The sheltered inlet of Boulders Beach is located in the Cape peninsula near Simon's Town. Here exists a protected colony of African penguins which can be viewed in their natural habitat via wooden walkways. There is also an excellent beach for swimming nearby. 

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden

Regarded as one of the great botanic gardens of the world. Situated on the slopes of Table Mountain, it contains over 7000 species of plants from southern Africa and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Kirstenbosch includes a fragrance garden, a medicinal garden, 2,500 species of plants found on the Cape Peninsula, a Protea garden (best seen in spring!), a braille trail, and a cycad amphitheatre.
